Job Title: RN, OR (Operating Room)
Job Summary:
The RN, OR (Operating Room) is responsible for providing perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes assisting with pre-operative assessments, intraoperative care, and post-operative monitoring and evaluation. The RN, OR works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform pre-operative assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients.
2. Assist with positioning and preparation of patients for surgery.
3. Provide intraoperative nursing care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with surgical procedures.
4. Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
5. Monitor patients post-operatively and assess for complications.
6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure.
2. BLS and ACLS certification required.
3. Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
